Loophole

I just don't even have words for the stuff going on the financial industry. It is disgusting and they need to be taken down. This was just posted on Huffington Post. They called it a $50 Trillion loophole. It is time to come up with new terms. This is not simply a loophole - it is criminal.

I just ran across this clip trying to find something to turn a friend onto "Pushing Daisies" because the show is a tribute to what television could be if it wasn't for the business end. I don't know if you've ever watched it but it was a fun and quirky show with a substantive story-line and top notch actors. From set design, effects, cinematography, and all the way down to the dialog, this show was art. Anyhow, I found this clip and I know Kerry likes musicals and I'm sure everyone else does too. It seems like the more progressive you are, the more receptive you are to the performing arts.

Personally, I'm in love with Kristen Chenoweth. I will watch her in anything. I do mean anything. If you ever wondered what a gay man's wet dream was, it is Cheno playing the lead in the 10 hour movie-musical about the life of Dolly Parton. Could you imagine?! I just want to hear her sing I'll always love you and Jolene and then see her all dolled (tee hee) up. Objectively though, I do think we are going to be seeing a lot more of her in the next 20 years or so. I would put money on the fact that she is going to be the next true star. I mean that in the old hollywood movie star kind of way.

Stimulus Success

Here's a stimulus success story: In Arizona's 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that's what the Web site set up by the Obama administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says.

There's one problem, though: There is no 15th congressional district in Arizona; the state has only eight districts.

Force the DEA to Tell the Truth About Medical Marijuana

In a significant reversal, the American Medical Association on November 10 acknowledged the medical value of marijuana and called for the U.S. government to reconsider marijuana's current classification as a Schedule I substance (drugs that the government says have "no currently accepted medical use").

However, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) still claims on its website that, "The American Medical Association recommends that marijuana remain a Schedule I controlled substance."

Please use the form below to send a message to Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice, asking them to correct this misinformation on a government website.

10 Year old refuses to recite pledge until gays allowed to marry

Wow, just wow...

"I was analyzing the meanings of it, because I want to be a lawyer," he said. "... There isn't really liberty and justice for all. There's ... Gays and lesbians can't marry. There's still a lot of racism and sexism in the world. Yeah."

Good for him!

Meep

There is something going on right now in the interwebs, that I don't know if you've heard about or not. Basically this group of kids formed a facebook group or something and got all the students in their high school class to agree to just say "meep" over and over again in school. The principal found it before hand and I guess he is some kind of fascist. He called all the parents of the people participating and said that if their child said "meep" they would be suspended.

Ok, dude. Really? I'll bet the parents were even laughing at his message. So the kids did what any self respecting person would do if they had the power of the interwebs in High School: They made the news viral. I've seen the story on like 10 sites now. I even sent an one word email to the principal, assistant principal, and the supervisor - along with what I can only assume is at least a few million other people. People are mailing post cards and calling too.

Here is a little quip from a lawyer in NYC about what happened. You really should read it. This story just has that "it" factor. Someone submitted it to Digg, which I don't know if you know the demographic of digg readers but they are people with means, time, and they are all SUPER creative. This school is in for a treat on Monday and I hope Rachael covers it. I think she will.
