Did you watch Friday night's Rachel? I am watching it right now and I applaud how extremely intelligent and ballsy (forgive the sexist adjective) she is getting. She has always been a force, but she has been evolving into something else very quickly. I think she is studying how people rise to power in the private sector. Does that make sense? I feel like she is studying the psychology of how news is reported/received and now she is in the experimental stage.
Tonight she changed the format of her show, sorry last night, and she had a panel on. She seems to be backing away from the "Rachel" aspect of her show. I think it makes a psychological difference to the audience when you have a panel of mild mannered intelligent people on tv speaking about the things that most people worry about. Where most shows attack the opposite party she is doing something very different now. Last night she basically ignored the political perspective completely in regards to party. She had people on talking about the news. It was very interesting. I don't claim to know what she is doing, but she is executing some sort of plan right now. I think it is working.
Did you watch it? Did you notice something different? I can't help but think that she is taking something from the fact that she knows when she goes on Meet the Press their ratings go thru the proverbial roof. What do you think is going on? I think she is distancing herself from any party and is going to cover everything in a way that people actually view and talk about politics in real life. Does that make sense? I think she is removing herself from that special status that news people have - somewhere between us and politicians. What do you think? Do you think something is going on?
I'd like to express concern if this format is something she is going to stick with, Rachel, please do not fall into a moderator roll. Also personally to Nate Silver, bro you are a wickedly smart genius. I am one of your biggest fans. Your data turns me on, but the next few election cycles you are going to become more and more famous. Bro you have a bullseye on your back to get made fun of, even more than Rachel and Anne Marie. Call on one of your gay friends and get a mild make over, before it becomes a problem. You have some sexy potential actually and if you don't tap into that I see SNL skits at your expense in the future.
